Island Images: Graduation Signs
Joanna Gordon, Kaiser High School Class of 2012, got lights. As her dad, Star-Advertiser staff writer Mike Gordon, promised in his May 13 story on the popularity of the homemade signs that direct lei-bearing well-wishers to graduates at the conclusion of commencement ceremonies, the Hawaii Kai teenager saw her visage and name emblazoned on a double-sided poster outlined with two strands of lights powered by AA-batteries hot-glued to the poster board.
To make double sure his daughter could be easily located, Gordon mounted his creation on a 10-foot pole.
We asked readers to submit photos of their own graduation signs, and here are a few of them.
