Fire destroys six-bedroom house on Kauai
Fire destroyed a six-bedroom house in Hanamaulu Friday morning, the Kauai Fire Department said.
No one was hurt but the loss to the home was estimated at $500,000.
Firefighters responded to a 10:50 a.m. alarm and arrived within five minutes to find the house on Palikea Street fully engulfed in flames, officials said. Firefighters had the fire extinguished by 11:20 a.m.
No other structures were threatened, despite the close proximity of neighboring homes.
