2 separate Oahu fires believed deliberately set
Fire investigators have ruled that two recent but separate fires on Oahu were intentionally set.
Both cases have been turned over to the Honolulu Police Department which has initiated arson cases, Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig.
A fire at a house in Kuliouou Valley caused about $11,000 in damage to the Kalaau Place house and left its single occupant, a woman, displaced.
Meanwhile, five investigators said several structures sustained about $7,500 in damages in a fire at a Waialua farm on May 7.
Seelig said that fire also appears to have been intentionally in an area within the property just outside a fiberglass tram that had been converted into a residence. Also damaged was an inoperable motor vehicle and a wooden shed.
Damage was put at $7,500.
