Fire crews lift stricken hiker off Koko Crater trail
Firefighters rescued a female visitor after she had a medical emergency while hiking Koko Crater trail.
Sixteen firefighters in five companies were dispatched to the trail after someone called to report a sick person about 11:20 a.m. Saturday, said Honolulu fire Capt. Robert Main.
Firefighters used a helicopter to bring the woman, in her 50s, down to Koko Head Regional Park and transfered her to paramedics about noon.
An Emergency Medical Services supervisor said the woman declined treatment at the scene.
