Medical Examiner identifies man who died in Waialae Country Club cart crash
A 74-year-old Japanese visitor was killed after the golf cart he was in fell into a ditch at Waialae Country Club on Wednesday.
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Yoshitada Kambayashi of Tokyo and scheduled an autopsy.
The other person in the golf cart , a 34-year-old man, went to the hospital in stable condition. The accident happened at about noon Wednesday.
An Emergency Medical Services manager said people on the course performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the older man until paramedics arrived. He went to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition where he was pronounced dead.
