Aloun Farms is joining the trend of local farms selling fresh food directly to consumers.

The company plans to roll out a monthly membership plan where consumers receive a box of assorted fruits and vegetables for $29.

Aloun will start its service, called Fresh Aloha Direct, on Saturday, with delivery to one site, the sales office of the Kealakai at Kapolei subdivision. Alec Sou, Aloun general manager, said the plan is to expand deliveries at sites around Oahu.

Three boxes are available, each with a different mix.
