2 suspects sought in Wahiawa knifepoint robbery

Two suspects are being sought in connection with the robbery of a man in Wahiawa early Saturday morning.

A man, 53, said he caught a ride with a female acquaintance, in her 30s, to Waianae Saturday morning, police said. During the drive, an unidentified man stopped the vehicle on the side of the road. The woman then pointed a knife at the victim and demanded his money. The male suspect demanded that he comply, police said.

After handing his money to the woman, she fled from the vehicle, police said. As the victim tried unsuccessfully to chase after her on foot, the male suspect drove away in the vehicle.

The investigation has been turned over to the Honolulu Police Department Criminal Investigation Division’s Robbery Detail.
