VASH delivers bedding to stranded Air Australia passengers
The Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii tonight delivered 30 pillows, pillowcases and linens to Australians stranded overnight at Honolulu Airport after their flight was grounded because of Air Australia’s financial problems.
Hotels were already full because of the Kaiser Permanente Great Aloha Run on Monday when Air Australia announced it was canceling its flight from Honolulu to Brisbane, said Jessica Lani Rich, president and executive director of VASH.
She said the airport opened a conference room at the Interisland Terminal where 30 Australians who had no where else to go were staying. The stranded passengers were scheduled to leave on a flight Friday, she said.
“The community does care about these Australian visitors who were stranded, and we wanted to do what we can to help,” Rich said.
