Police arrest suspected pickpocket in Waikiki
A 25-year-old Kalihi man was arrested allegedly after trying to steal a cell phone and wallet from a man sitting half-awake on a Waikiki Trade Center wall this morning.
Police said a man reached into the victim’s pocket and removed his cell phone and wallet at the Kuhio Avenue location about 5:40 a.m. A person who witnessed the incident flagged down a patrol officer and detained him.
The suspected was arrested and is being held pending a charge of second-degree theft.
