A man accused of attempted murder for shooting a man in the shoulder after a confrontation at Aiea Bowl pleaded guilty in Circuit Court Monday to first-degree assault.
Police said Joseph Pasion shot Landon Dela Cruz on April 30 in the parking lot of Aiea Shopping Center. Police said the shooting was the culmination of a dispute between Pasion and Dela Cruz that began in Aiea Bowl, where Pasion was celebrating his birthday.
As part of Pasion’s plea deal with the state, the prosecutor agreed to drop a Class A firearms charge.
Pasion also pleaded guilty to several other firearms violations, including being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and carrying a firearm without a permit.
Pasion, 31, faces maximum 10-year prison terms for the assault and firearms charges when he is sentenced in February.
