A traffic accident claimed the life of a woman in Milolii overnight.

Hawaii County firefighters responded to a report of a crash at the end of MiloliiRoad just after midnight.

Firefighters said a sport utility vehicle overturned in a lava field about 20 yards off the road. The woman, in her mid-30s or early 40s, had been ejected from the vehicle and was found dead at the scene.

Her body was about 25-feet from the overturned vehicle, which had apparently been involved in a single-vehicle crash, firefighters said.
