"Skateistan: Four Wheels and a Board in Kabul" (6 p.m., Afghanistan, American Immigrant Filmmakers on Profile): The documentary follows Australian skateboarder Oliver Percovich and aid worker Sharna Nolan as they try to bring hope and happiness to children in a war-torn country. 

» "The Kid With a Bike" (6:45 p.m., Belgium/ France/Italy, EuroCinema Hawaii): The latest film from the award-winning sibling team of Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne is about an angry boy who refuses to accept abandonment by his parents, and the kindly hairdresser who helps calm his rage.

» "Tyrannosaur" (9:30 p.m., U.K., EuroCinema Hawaii): Already lauded as one of the better British films of the year, "Tyrannosaur" depicts a relationship developing between a self-destructive man with a violent past and a religious woman who leads an idyllic life after they meet at a Christian charity.

» "Snowtown" (9:45 p.m., Australia, HIFF Extreme): Based on a true story, this stark tale journeys into a subculture of addiction, domestic violence, brutality and sexual abuse. In a mix of misdirected hero worship and terror, a young man becomes an accomplice to his mother’s new boyfriend and his friends’ sadistic neighborhood vigilantism.
