Meetings on a proposed tuition increase over the next five years at all University of Hawaii campuses will be held beginning Sept. 16 at Windward Community College.
The University of Hawaii is proposing to increase resident undergraduate tuition between 33 percent to 49 percent at the community college and UH campuses over the next five years. Resident tuition at UH-Manoa will go up by $264 for the next academic year, under the proposal. UH-Hilo’s tuition will rise by $240 and community college tuition will go up by $120 next year. UH-West Oahu, which is building a new campus in Kapolei, will see a $456 tuition increase for 2012-2013.
The Board of Regents will make a final decision on the tuition increase this fall, after the campus meetings are concluded.
