“Food Network Star,” the Food Network’s culinary reality series, is looking for contestants from Hawaii. The series, which selects someone to host a show on the network, is holding an open casting call for its eighth season, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Sheraton Waikiki.
The network is looking for people “full of life, passionate about cooking and knowledgeable about food,” the casting agent said. Chefs, line cooks, caterers, home cooks and culinary enthusiasts are all invited to apply.
Last season, Jeff Mauro (pictured) won out over 14 other finalists with his comic skills and penchant for making sandwiches.
