Haleiwa mo-ped victim identified
The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the 56-year-old Haleiwa man who was fatally injured Tuesday when he crashed his mo-ped into a pickup truck as Michael Golubski.
Golubski was not wearing a helmet and died of “multiple blunt force injuries.”
Police said Golubski disregarded a yield sign and crashed into a 2002 silver Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 62-year-old Wahiawa man, who was heading into Haleiwa from the intersection of Kamehameha and Joseph P. Leong highways.
Golubski was taken in critical condition to Wahiawa General Hospital, where he died from head and body injuries, police said.
The accident occurred on Kamehameha Highway, one-eighth of a mile west of Joseph P. Leong Highway.
