Waianae man held in alleged armed intervention
A 26-year-old Waianae man was arrested this morning after he attempted to intervene in an argument and ended up drawing a gun on one of the parties, police said.
According to police, a man and woman were arguing when the suspect attempted to intervene, then showed his gun to the man. The two men then engaged in a “mutual affray” during which the suspect struck the victim, a 52-year-old man, with a “dangerous instrument,” police said.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree assault.
