Man dies after car crash in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
A man died and another was injured after a car crash at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park early Sunday morning.
At 1:29 a.m., the car was discovered about 15 to 20 feet off Highway 11 on the rocks near the 36-mile marker, according to Big Island fire officials.
Rescue officials found two men, one of whom was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital. The other man had multiple injuries.
No further information on the victims, including the condition of the surviving victim, was available Sunday.
Big Island police and park rangers are investigating the crash.
