Suicide bomber hits Indonesian mosque, wounds 17
JAKARTA, Indonesia >> A suspected suicide bomber attacked an Indonesian mosque during Friday prayers, wounding at least 17 people, police and doctors said.
The bomb went off at a mosque inside a police compound in the West Java town of Cirebon, West Java police chief Maj. Gen. Suparni Parto told El-Shinta radio.
At least 17 people were rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries to their arms, legs and torsos, one of the doctors, Durorem Nasik, told TVOne.
Parto said the attack was believed to be the work of a suicide bomber, noting that the alleged attacker’s corpse was found inside the mosque.
Among those wounded was a local police chief, Parto said.
