Hawaii swept in volleyball by UCLA
Joshua Walker and Jonas Umlauft each put down 14 kills but it was not enough as No. 10 Hawaii fell to No. 7 UCLA in a men’s volleyball match tonight in Los Angeles, 25-21, 25-22, 28-26.
It was the seventh consecutive time that the Warriors (5-7, 3-4 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) had lost to the Bruins (8-7, 3-6). Last month, UCLA also won in straight sets in the Outrigger Hotels Invitational.
Hawaii committed 17 service errors, including two late in Set 3. The Warriors had led the entire way in Set 3 until the UCLA tied it at 23.
The teams meet again Saturday at Pauley Pavilion (5 p.m. Hawaii time).
