Libraries host HTY show

Honolulu Theatre for Youth is presenting another take of the popular "Sensesational Show," a participatory play for young children about the five senses.

The play, written by Oishin O’Sullivan and Sandra Payne and performed by Moses Goods and Maile Holck, is best for children ages 2 to 5.

This 30-minute "The New Sensesational Show" is being presented for free at public libraries throughout January and February. Upcoming performances follow:

JCCH presents festival

The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii presents its annual New Year’s Ohana Festival tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Event highlights include kimono dressing, food booths, ikebana and bonsai displays, entertainment, make-and-take crafts and games. Mochi pounding and a tea ceremony are among the cultural demonstrations.

Admission is free. Parking is available at the University of Hawaii at Manoa parking structure on Dole Street. A complimentary shuttle will run between the festival and parking structure.
