Argument after Waikiki traffic incident leads to arrest
Words exchanged after two cars nearly collided in near the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Waikiki led to blows and the arrest of a 24-year-old man yesterday afternoon, police said.
Police said the suspect’s car nearly hit a taxi at about 4 p.m. The 48-year-old taxi driver and 24-year-old Waikiki man argued and the suspect allegedly got out of his car and hit the 48-year-old man in the taxi.
Police arrested the younger man after an investigation for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and two contempt warrants.
The taxi driver had minor injuries to his face and refused treatment, police said.
