A 15-year-old boy walking home from school in Kalihi yesterday was hit in the face and robbed of his backpack, police said.

Police arrested an 18-year-old man for investigation of second-degree robbery and were looking for another male.

The victim was confronted at 3:10 p.m. yesterday by the two males, who demanded his cell phone, police said.

One of them hit the boy in the face three times and took his backpack.

He reported the robbery to the Kalihi police sub-station and officers arrested the 18-year-old man nearby.
