Patriots replace ex-UH long snapper Jake Ingram
Former University of Hawaii long-snapper Jake Ingram has been replaced as the snapper for the New England Patriots, according to ESPNBoston.com’s Mike Reiss.
The Patriots signed former Cincinnati kicker Shayne Graham and Baltimore Ravens long snapper Matt Katula today.
The 28-year-old Katula snapped for the Baltimore Ravens from 2005-09.
Ingram, who was drafted two seasons ago, has struggled badly this season, particularly on punts. He’s short-hopped Zoltan Mesko a half dozen times and had some of his short snaps drift off the mark as well.
Katula is an experienced veteran who Bill Belichick hopes will solidify the position, according to the report.
