Makiki man stabs teen during robbery

A 36-year-old, Makiki man stabbed a 15-year-old boy in the stomach after the man was punched in the face and confronted by the boy and three other young men, police said.

The man was sitting on his porch at 1:25 a.m. Saturday when he was approached by two males, including a 17 year old who demanded a cigarette, police said. When the man told the 17 year old that he didn’t have a cigarette, both of them pulled out knives and demanded property, police said.

Then an 18-year-old man approached and challenged the man to a fight. As the man tried to get away, the 15-year-old walked from across the street and punched the man in the face, police said.

The man tried to defend himself and stabbed the 15-year-old in the stomach, police said. The three teenagers and the other male then fled, police said.

Police arrested the 18 year old and 17 year old for investigation of first-degree robbery. The 15 year old was taken to a hospital where he was confined, police said.
