(Also 9:15 p.m. tomorrow.)
» "Nuummioq" (6:30 p.m., Film for Thought, with post-screening discussion): Touted as the most ambitious and accomplished film to ever emerge from Greenland, it’s also an Oscar entry. It’s the story of a robust but terminally ill man who comes to terms with his dire situation during a trip to the fjords with his cousin/best friend.
» "To Whom It May Concern: Ka Shen’s Journey" (6:30 p.m., Maverick Award): Festival guest Nancy Kwan will receive the HIFF award when she appears at the screening of this documentary about her life and career as one of Hollywood’s more notable Asian stars, thanks to her 1960s movies "The World of Suzie Wong" and "Flower Drum Song."
