School board to hold meeting in Waianae
The state Board of Education is set to hold a community meeting in Waianae on the leeward coast.
The gathering will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Maili Elementary School cafeteria on Kulaaupuni Street.
Education and the public library will be among the issues to be discussed.
Specifically, the board will focus on the education budget and the award of a $75 million grant to Hawaii from the federal Race to the Top contest.
Area schools also will be recognized for meeting progress standards under the federal No Child Left Behind law.
