A convicted felon allegedly pointed a gun at a vehicle full of military police on the H-2 freeway yesterday and later was arrested on suspicion of six counts of terroristic threatening in the first degree and a variety of weapons and ammunition counts, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, Honolulu police said.

Robert K. Nunies, 27, of a Koolani Drive address, was the lone occupant of a silver vehicle that allegedly pulled up to a U.S. government vehicle carrying Army police yesterday. Nunies then allegedly pointed a deadly weapon at the police officers, Honolulu police said.

The occupants took down the license plate of the car and called 911. Honolulu police tracked down the registered owner of the silver vehicle, who directed officers to Nunies’ home.

Honolulu police arrested Nunies at home after a brief struggle.
