Hundreds of canoe paddlers, boaters and water enthusiasts greeted Hikianalia and its crew members outside Dana Point, Calif., Wednesday and, as is Hawaiian custom, Hikianalia crew chanted outside the breakwater at Dana Cove and requested permission to enter the port, according to a media release from the Polynesian Voyaging Society.
