4 amendments to City Charter on Nov. 8 ballot

Oahu voters in next month’s general election will decide whether to amend the Honolulu City Charter with new provisions affecting affordable housing, development, land management and the Office of Council Serv­ices. In order to pass, each of the four proposals on the Nov. 8 ballot will need more than 50% voter approval in a “yes” or “no” choice. Read more

Green will ensure right to abortions ‘on day one’ if elected as Hawaii governor; Aiona says not up to governor

“My administration will take action on day one to ensure that the rights of women in Hawaii are protected,” Democrat Josh Green said in a statement today. “We will not allow extreme laws from other states to threaten reproductive healthcare rights in our state.” Republican James “Duke” Aiona did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Green’s announcement.
