Anything else you’d like voters to know about you?

One of the many attributes I have is enough life experiences to relate to and understand the people and the compassion and love that I possess compels me to make life better for all. I will work toward uplifting and empowering the people and the restoration and protection of our environment.

What makes you qualified to be a state representative?

My work experiences run the gamut of working as a legislative aide, teacher, public health professional and small business owner had given me the right perspective on pertinent issues affecting our community and enough experiences to understand and tackle the concerns of the people.

Gov. Ige says he will once again propose increases to the state gas tax, vehicle weight tax and state registration fees to help pay for state road projects. Do you support his proposal?

Increasing taxes on these areas adds burden to working population, who are already struggling to make ends meet. State needs to encourage businesses that can generate revenues to fund state road projects.

If the Legislature is again asked to extend Oahu’s half-percent excise tax surcharge to finance construction or operation of the rail system, would you support such an extension?

Before an extension of Oahu’s half-percent excise tax surcharge to finance construction or operation of rail system, Mayor Caldwell should request for additional federal appropriation on transportation for the state. Only then we should extend the half-percent tax surcharge as needed.

Should the state play a role in cracking down on illegal vacation rentals in Hawaii?

Illegal vacation rentals in Hawaii, has to be regulated to comply with the laws of the land both on a state or city and county level.

Should the Legislature require that police officers in Hawaii use “body cameras,” and help to fund the use of those cameras?

I don’t believe body cameras for police officers are necessary at this time because police brutality is not a problem at the present. Our police officers have so far acted accordingly and professionally to warrant the use of body cameras. Police brutality is not a problem at this time.

Dozens of police officers in Hawaii are disciplined each year for committing crimes or violating departmental policies, but little information is released about the officers or their cases. Do you think there needs to be greater public disclosure?

Disciplinary measures within the police departments should not be a public record at this time to preserve the integrity and trust for our police officers, unless it poses statewide safety issues rampantly occurring, then greater public disclosure might be necessary to curtail crimes and departmental violations of police officers.

I’m pretty sure this woman has never lived in House District 40. She has had a home in Waipahu and one in West Lock Estates, but on the other side of the boundary with HD40. Why hasn’t anyone checked on this?
