Ever run for public office? If so, when? Outcome?

In 2014 ran for state Senate 17, lost in the general election

Other civic experience or community service?

Community volunteering for various projects, member of the Optimist Club of Honolulu, currently serving as HGEA Steward Unit 4, Pearl City Neighborhood Board, 2nd Vice President for Annak Ti Badoc Iti Hawaii, board of directors CIA-SI 96812 Hawaii Chapter.

Anything else you’d like voters to know about you?

My campaign is all about serving the people for better education, health, safety, economy, sustainability and to improve senior services/benefits.

I have the desire to serve the people and have real solutions for a better quality of life. I promise If given the honor and opportunity to represent you, I will do my very best to serve and work for you and not for any political reason.

Gov. Ige says he will once again propose increase to the state gas tax, vehicle weight tax and state registration fees to help pay for state road projects. Do you support his proposal?

If no other means of funding, I only support the state gas tax and vehicle weight tax not the state registration fees. Number of miles traveled represents the road usage that causes wear on the roads.

If the Legislature is again asked to extend Oahu’s half-percent excise tax surcharge to finance construction or operation of the rail system , would you support such an extension?

The concept of development in the west is a good idea to relieve housing congestion in some parts of Oahu. Mass transportation is needed to help with easing traffic from the west side of the island. Extending the tax surcharge would depend on the foreseeable economic strength of the state.

Should the state play a role in cracking down on illegal vacation rentals in Hawaii?

Yes. The illegal vacation rental operates throughout the state.

Should the legislature require that police officers in Hawaii use “body cameras,” and help to fund the use of those cameras?

Yes. It should be a joint effort between the state and the counties to fund the use of the cameras. Having a recording system that is difficult to manipulate or tamper may prevent abusive behaviors and misconduct. The cameras can eliminate questions and produce evidence.

Dozens of police officers in Hawaii are disciplined each year for committing crimes or violating departmental policies, but little information is released about officers or their cases. Do you think there needs to be greater public disclosure?

Yes, only after an investigation is conducted and the officer is found to have committed a crime or violation.
