Two Hawaii chefs make appearances Sunday in the madcap world of Food Network cooking competitions. Reno Henriques returns to “Guy’s Grocery Games” at 8 p.m., with Adam Tabura following on “Cutthroat Kitchen” at 10 p.m.

Henriques won a preliminary round of “Grocery Games” two weeks ago and returns Sunday for the finals. The “Guy” of the show’s title refers to Guy Fieri, who also hosts the popular “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” He selects contestants for his games from among chefs he’s featured on that “Triple D.”

Henriques said business at his restaurant, Fresh Catch, tripled after Fieri came calling so he was willing to brave the competitive zaniness, even though it goes against his grain as “just a backyard kinda guy.”

Tabura, of Aloha Plate food truck fame, has been out of competition since his team won the Food Network’s popular reality show “The Great Food Truck Race” in 2013. It was time to return, though, he said.

“Cutthroat Kitchen,” which involves contestants sabotaging each others’ attempts to meet cooking challenges, is “madness,” Tabura said. “It makes no sense, but it makes great TV for the viewer.”
