Elizabeth Kieszkowski

Elizabeth Kieszkowski is an editorial page writer at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. Pre-pandemic, she served as the editor of the Play, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s arts and entertainment section, which included three reporters.

 

She joined the Star-Advertiser in 2010 to oversee the newspaper’s entertainment section, TGIF, and was part of the team that conceived, curated and executed a transformed section in 2019, with Play appearing weekly on Thursdays.

 

She previously served as features editor at the Honolulu Advertiser and as editor of the Honolulu Weekly, with more than 20 years of experience as a journalist in Hawaii. She has written extensively on rock, Americana and world music, art and artists and other cultural topics.

 

Before coming to Hawaii, Kieszkowski worked at California newspapers and earned her J.D. at the University of California-Davis School of Law. She is originally from upstate New York.
