The three developer-led teams that are finalists for the contract to develop, design, build and maintain the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District have experience with some of the world’s major sports and entertainment facilities, their resumes indicate.

The three — Aloha Stadium District Partners, Aloha Stadium Hui Hilina’i and Waiola Development Partners — were selected by the state from a pool of seven respondents to receive requests for proposals.

The timeline projects selecting one of them in 2021 to join with the state in a public-private partnership to build the stadium as an anchor of the multi-use development on the 98-acre site in Halawa.

The state has appropriated up to $350 million for its portion of the project.

In the consortium that makes up the Aloha Stadium District Partners, Civil &Building North America lists experience with the building of the 80,698-seat Stade de France outside Paris and the Singapore Sports Hub while NBBJ Hawaii lists the Cleveland Browns’ Paul Brown Stadium and Hangzhou’s Olympic Sports Park in China.

In the Aloha Stadium Hui Hilina’a consortium, Nordic PCL Construction lists the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the American Dream Sports Complex in New Jersey among its credits. The architectural and design firm M. Arthur Gensler Jr. &Associates’ resume includes the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, the Dallas Cowboys’ Training Facility and Austin Football Club Stadium in Texas. It is also working on San Diego State’s Aztec Stadium which has a projected fall 2022 opening.

In the Waiola Development Partners consortium, Turner Construction’s credits include the SoFi Stadium and Entertainment District, home of the Rams and Chargers, in Los Angeles as well as Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., home to the 49ers. Additionally, MANICA Architecture lists Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, home of the Raiders, the Chase Center in San Francisco and VTB Arena Park &Stadium in Moscow.
