Pali Lookout on Oahu to reopen Wednesday
State officials said today that Nuuanu Pali State Wayside – more commonly known as Pali Lookout – will reopen Wednesday after being closed since nearly the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March.
The Hawaii Division of State Parks had closed the park and scenic lookout due to crowding concerns as well as budgetary constraints.
The park will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, with gates to access roads unlocked and secured daily by officers from the Honolulu Police Department.
State officials also remind visitors there are no legal hikes beginning from Pali Lookout, which has been a long-standing issue; violators are subject to citations and fines.
Also, starting Monday, newly approved parking fees for out-of-state residents and commercial vehicles will apply:
>> Nonresidents: $7 per vehicle
