Pedestrian critically injured in Nuuanu crash

A man was critically injured late Sunday after being struck by a vehicle in Nuuanu.

The collision occurred on N. Vineyard Boulevard near Nuuanu Avenue just after 10:45 p.m.

Police said a red Mazda sedan operated by a 20-year-old woman was traveling east on N. Vineyard Boulevard when it struck a pedestrian.

The injured man was taken to an area hospital in critical but stable condition. His age was not available.

Police said the Mazda driver did not sustain any injuries and remained at the scene.

Neither speed, alcohol nor drugs were involved in the collision.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
