Kapolei man sentenced to 10 years in prison for enticing minor
A Kapolei man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised releasing after pleading guilty for enticing a 13-year-old minor with sex and offering to pay for it.
Zachariah Fredrickson, 32, will register as a sex offender and pay a $5,000 special assessment in accordance with the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015.
Court documents show that, on one day in March of last year, Fredrickson, who identified himself as part of the Marine Corps, engaged in online conversations with an undercover law enforcement agent posing as a 13-year-old girl.
Fredrickson agreed to pick up the agent posing as the girl and asked the if the agent was “ok with having sex with someone in their 20’s.” He also messaged another undercover agent he believed to be the girl’s mother to discuss what sexual acts he wanted to perform on the minor.
The second undercover agent told Fredrickson that there was a $100-per-hour fee to have sex with the girl, to which he agreed. A meeting was set up for that night, but Fredrickson did not have cash, so the parties agreed that he could pay with two dive tanks.
Fredrickson drove to an address provided by one of the undercover agents that night and told one of the agents that he was “very nervous.” He later left the scene fearing that law enforcement was involved.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations later identified Fredrickson as the user on the app who was talking with the undercover agents.
FBI agents in May of last year interviewed Fredrickson while he was in Georgia training to be a National Park Ranger. There, he admitted to that the purpose of the meeting was for sex but said he didn’t go through with it because 13-year-old girl the agent was pretending to be “was not of age.”
Fredrickson was arrested in Kapolei in July of last year.
Fredrickson said in a court document that he is trying to get his wife and their two sons to move to Russia while he is imprisoned, and he wants to move with them after his sentence is finished.
He studied Russian in college.
