Man, 54, allegedly crashes car into vehicle carrying 2 toddlers, attempts to assault driver with knife in Mililani, police say
Honolulu police arrested a 54-year-old man after he allegedly crashed into a vehicle and attempted to assault a 22-year-old man with a knife in a suspected road-rage incident in Mililani Sunday.
Police said the suspect intentionally caused a collision with a vehicle occupied by a man and woman, both 22, and two toddlers, ages 2 and 3, between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
The suspect and 22-year-old man confronted one another and, police said, the suspect threatened the driver and the female passenger and attempted to assault the driver with a knife.
No injuries were reported.
Police said the suspect fled but was followed and found on the 95-600 block of Wikao Street at about 9:15 a.m.
Police arrested him on four counts of first-degree criminal property damage, two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, one count of attempted first-degree assault, resisting arrest and two counts of harassment of a law enforcement officer.
