People traversed the beach in Waimanalo on Labor Day. Most beaches were barren due to the park closures and stay at home/work at home order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. People were allowed to cross the beach to enter the water for exercise and other ocean activities.

Leighton Badayos, in red, showed Sonia Gomes marks on his wrists from handcuffs after being released from the Kapolei Police Station on Labor Day. Badayos is the organizer of Kia'i 4 da Keiki, a group against the sex trafficking of adults and children, and led a convoy to bring attention to the issue on Labor Day. He was arrested by police at the Waianae Mall while gathering and sign waving with his group for investigation of violating the stay at home order.
