Woman, 21, who died after rescue at Yokohama Bay is identified
A 21-year-old woman rescued by lifeguards after a wave swept her off rocks off Yokohama Bay Sunday has died.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has identified her as Zena Gran of Honolulu.
Gran and a 20-year-old man were at Moi Hole at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday when a wave swept them off rocks and into the ocean.
Lifeguards rescued Gran and she was taken in critical condition to The Queen’s Medical Center where she died Tuesday.
The U.S. Coast Guard, lifeguards and firefighters launched a search for the missing 20-year-old man.
Lifeguards found the body of a man Monday morning near the area where he went missing. The Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Diego Medina of Honolulu.
