Lahainaluna’s Joshua Tihada ended his prep career with three touchdowns and a state-tournament record 310 rushing yards to lead the Lunas to a 21-10 win over Kapaa in the Division II final of the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Football State Championships today at Aloha Stadium.
Tihada broke the previous mark of 283 rushing yards by Waipahu’s Alfred Failauga to help Lahainaluna (11-1) win its fourth straight state title.

Tihada, who played on the first state-title winning team as a freshman, put the game away with a 40-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He finished with 36 carries.
Kapaa (8-2) lost both of its games this season to Lahainaluna and has come up empty in four trips to the state final in the last five years.
Warriors running back Baba Na-O led Kapaa with 108 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.
