Unite Here Local 5 held its annual statewide delegate convention attended by representatives from all Local 5 properties—hotels, airport, and healthcare workers. As part of the convention, roughly 200+ attendees plan to occupy the public easement within the Modern Honolulu hotel to show support to workers there and at the Kaanapali Beach Club. The union wants to put pressure on Diamond Resorts to settle contracts at the properties.
