The Chaminade, Hawaii Pacific and Hawaii Hilo volleyball teams each split a pair of matches Friday at the D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase in Pomona, Calif.
In the Silverswords’ second match, Claire Zanon had 10 kills while hitting .714 and added 14 digs in a 25-22, 25-16, 27-25 victory over Cal Poly.
Earlier, Emma Tecklenburg finished with 10 kills, but Chaminade fell to No. 3 Western Washington 25-21, 25-18, 25-15.
In the Sharks’ opening match, Cameryn Collie recorded 15 kills and Perla Escobar added 12 in a 29-27, 25-14, 18-25, 25-12 win over Cal State East Bay.
In the second match, Escobar had 14 kills and Collie added 12 in HPU’s 25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-11 loss to Alaska Fairbanks.
In the Vulcans’ second match, Bria Beale had 19 kills and 23 digs and Kendall Kott finished with 52 assists in a 25-16, 27-29, 25-20, 26-24 triumph over Seattle Pacific.
In the opener, Beale had 16 kills, Amber Tai added 15 and Emily Wade was in on 10 blocks, but Hilo fell to Cal State Monterey Bay 25-14, 26-28, 25-21, 25-23.
The Silverswords moved to 5-1, the Sharks went to 4-2 and the Vulcans are 4-2.
