Kapolei roads closed 7 hours due to barricade situation
Honolulu police closed roads for seven hours in Kapolei as officers responded to a barricade situation.
A police spokeswoman said officers attempted to serve a search warrant to a man when he barricaded himself in his home shortly after 6 a.m. today.
Police said he was wanted for first-degree promotion of dangerous drugs. Officers took the man into custody.
Hawaii News Now reported the barricade situation was at Pae Ko Gardens.
Police said nearby residents were evacuated.
Police shut down roads in the areas of Kaiau Avenue, Kamaaha Avenue and Kumuiki Street. They were reopened at about 1 p.m.
