The following doctors have joined Kaiser Permanente Hawaii:

>> Dr. Philip Verhoef practices in critical care at Moanalua Medical Center of Kaiser Permanente. He served as a fellow in pediatric and adult critical care medicine at the University of Chicago and as an attending physician in the pediatric intensive care unit, medical intensive care unit and as an assistant professor in both the Department of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Chicago. Verhoef also is a researcher and recently has looked at Type 2 immune responses in sepsis.

>> Dr. Randall Hirata has joined the gynecology and obstetrics department at Kaiser Permanente Hilo Clinic. Prior to being part of Kaiser Permanente, Hirata had his own private practice at Hilo Medical Center.
