Hawaii picked up its first weekly conference honor on Monday when junior hitter Jolie Rasmussen was named Player of the Week by the Big West.
The Oregon transfer had a total of 57 kills, 17 digs and 13 blocks in leading the Rainbow Wahine to the championship of the 31st Hawaiian Airlines Classic. Rasmussen had a team-high 19 kills in each of the wins over then-No. 21 San Diego, St. John’s and then-No. 13 Washington, hitting .347, for Hawaii, which won its signature event for the 12th time and first since 2013.
