Hawaii Foodbank has received a $25,000 donation from Sysco Hawaii, which was formerly known as HFM FoodService.
HFM, a wholesale food service distributor in the Pacific Region for more than 50 years, was acquired in October 2017 by Sysco Corp., which on Wednesday officially changed HFM’s name to Sysco Hawaii while marking the grand opening of its 3,000-square-foot test kitchen at the company’s Oahu facility on Umi Street in Kalihi.

Kauai Medical Clinic has announced that Dr. Sierra Pena has recently joined their new clinic in Kapaa, Kauai. She specializes in well-child care, women’s health, adolescent health as well as whole family care. Pena has more than 17 years of experience as a medical school instructor and family medicine physician.
Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children has announced that Dr. Rachel Coel has joined their medical staff as a pediatric sports medicine physician. She will see patients at the new Straub Medical Center-Kapolei Clinic & Urgent Care, located in Ka Makana Alii. Coel’s expertise includes sports fitness, fracture care, sports injuries, nutrition and concussion.
