In a not untypical offering in the Star-Advertiser’s Views & Voices section, a New York Times-sourced article, “Trump appointee plots Great Western Public Land Robbery” (Star-Advertiser, Aug. 17), describes Trump appointees as “the gallery of awful human beings, monumental incompetents, wife-beaters, frauds and outright criminals.” Read on and you find they are also “the worst people,” “mad dogs” and “villains.”
This from the newspaper that touts providing “All the News That’s Fit to Print.” Putting aside the obvious political bias of the source, one wonders why reluctant House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wavers on proceeding with impeachment, why Republican voters overwhelmingly favor a president who has a popularity rating over 40%, and why the Democrats still search for a presidential candidate who will provide a real contest.
Granted the piece is just opinion, but is it fit to print?
