Former Punahou athlete Trevor Crabb and partner Reid Pridd lost their quarterfinal match to No. 5 Chaim Schalk and Jeremy Casebeer 21-16, 18-21, 15-9 on Saturday at the AVP Manhattan Beach Volleyball Open in California.
Later in the day, Crabb and Pridd, the No. 4 seed, beat No. 7 Ed Ratledge and Roberto Rodriguez 21-14, 21-18 in a contender’s bracket elimination match.
Crabb and Pridd will face No. 3 Tim Bomgren and Troy Field today in another elimination match.
Also Saturday, Punahou graduates Maddison McKibbin and Riley McKibbin, the No. 12 seed, were eliminated.
On the women’s side Saturday, former UH volleyball player Katie Spieler and partner Delaney Knudsen, the No. 19 seed, along with former UH player Emily Hartong and partner Geena Urango, the No. 17 seed, were eliminated.
