>> Christine Hirasa, vice president of communications, will now serve as the lead communications professional for HMSA. Prior to joining the company in January, she served as special adviser to the director of the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism and a communications director for the governor’s office under Gov. Neil Abercrombie. Hirasa also worked in various communication and leadership roles with multiple government offices and private sectors, including Hawaii News Now, KHON2 TV, University of Hawaii West Oahu and the state Department of Education.
>> Elisa Yadao recently retired as senior vice president and chief communications and community engagement officer for HMSA.
The Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau has hired the following as new managers of membership development and engagement:
>> Armida York joins with experience in public relations for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and in being part of the opening team of three major hotels.
>> Becky Stark joins with experience with the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce and hotel operations for Disney Cruise Lines.
